niedziela, 4 maja, 2008„The People Speak” to telewizyjna mini-seria dokumentalna, której animatorem jest Howard Zinn – naukowiec, historyk, socjolog, lewicowiec. Szerzej o samym filmie pisaliśmy tutaj. Najważniejszą – z punktu widzenia polskich fanów Pearl Jam – sprawą dotyczącego owego projektu jest udział w nim Eddiego Veddera.
1. maja w Malibu Performing Arts Center w Kalifornii nagrano tę część filmu, w której pojawia się lider formacji z Seattle. Vedder zaśpiewał jedną piosenkę: „Here’s To The State…” – znany już fanom polityczny manifest autorstwa Phila Ochsa, z tekstem uwspółcześnionym przez Tima Robbinsa. Swój występ Vedder podsumował słowami: „Nie mogę się doczekać chwili gdy nie będziemy musieli grać więcej takich piosenek.”
Obok Veddera w nagraniach w Malibu brał udział m.in. Sean Penn i Don Cheadle.
